Shelley’s educational accomplishments have provided a rich knowledge of typical and atypical child development including Speech and Language concerns and a variety of learning disorders.
Beyond her book knowledge, Shelley has first-hand experience in working with children with special needs. Her experience in this area began when she and her husband adopted four biological siblings through the foster system, all of whom have varying diagnoses and special needs.

Shelley is a veteran homeschool parent of fourteen years. Over time, she has been part of various communities through the process of foster parenting, adoption, and homeschooling. Her children have benefited from a customized education delivered in a manner that best suits their unique personalities and learning profiles.

Shelley desires to help other families support their children’s learning in a customized manner and advocate for their children. Her ultimate goal is to guide students to develop confidence within themselves and become lifelong autonomous learners.
